LUCKY STIFF by Stephen Flaherty & Lynn Ahrens

This musical, murder-mystery, farce is sure to please. The hysterically funny plot involves one dead body, a nerdy English shoe salesman, six million bucks in diamonds, and a lot of dogs. Great Music and Laughter!

MACBETH by William Shakespeare

A bloody rise to power, including the murder of the Scottish king, Duncan, and the guilt-ridden pathology of evil deeds generating still more evil deeds. We get to return to Shakespeare and just in time for Halloween.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL
by Charles Dickens

An original adaptation of the Dicken’s classic created just for the Lakewood Playhouse stage. Like all his Christmas Eves, Ebenezar Scrooge spends this night alone, but unlike other Christmas Eves past, this one proves to be a life changing experience. The perfect holiday show for the whole family!

GREATER TUNA
by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears & Ed Howard

A Special Event -- What do Arles Struvie, Aunt Pearl, Petey Fisk, Phineas Blye and Rev. Spikes have in common? In this hilarious send-up of small town morals and mores, they are all among the upstanding citizens of Tuna, Texas’ third smallest town. Scott Campbell and Marcus Walker will play all twenty characters offering a barrel of laughs in this "celebrity" performance.
January 8th – January 18th, 2009

  ABSENT FRIENDS by Alan Ayckbourn

From the same playwright of HOW THE OTHER HALF LOVES. In this comedy-farce, Colin must be comforted in his grief over the death of his fiancée. So his friends, who never met the girl, arrange a party for him. They wonder what to say, but there is more to their unease. The friends are all troubled, kept together by a mixture of business and cross-marital emotional ties. By the time Colin arrives, their tension contrasts dramatically with his cheeriness. The results are hilarious.
February 6th – March 1st, 2009

INTO THE WOODS by James Lapine & Stephen Sondheim

An ambivalent Cinderella? A blood-thirsty Little Red Riding Hood? They’re all among the cock-eyed characters in James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim’s fractured fairy tale. When a Baker and his Wife learn they’ve been cursed with childlessness, they swindle, lie and steal from Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk) to break the spell. What begins as a irreverent tale in the style of "The Princess Bride" ends as a moving lesson about the stories we tell our children.
March 27th – April 26th, 2009

ONCE IN A LIFETIME by George S. Kaufman & Moss Hart

This is the rollicking comedy of three down and out vaudeville performers who decide to head for Hollywood and try their luck with the newly invented talkies. Due to a series of consistent blunders, the most stupid of the three is carried to pinnacles of fame and fortune until he’s literally made a god of the industry. It’s a fast-paced, wild comic romp and a marvelous spoof of tinsel town.
